In Progress – Church of Epiphany
After purchasing the former Jan Hus Presbyterian Church and Neighborhood House, the Church of Epiphany engaged Acheson Doyle Partners to provide architectural design services for the renovation and restoration of the building. ADP is currently working on the design of a new home for the growing congregation. The full interior renovation incorporates diverse program elements including the church; offices; an elderly food program with a complete commercial kitchen; residential spaces; a school; a gymnasium; and an active roof area. All floors and spaces are accessible, facilitated by a full building elevator. The renovated church sanctuary renovation includes a new organ and enlarged stained glass windows; selective existing liturgical fixtures belonging to the church will be utilized. All building systems and infrastructure will be new. The roof will be replaced and facade restoration will follow New York City’s Landmarks Preservation Commission Rules.
