One Wall Street is a Finalist for the Urban Land Institute’s Awards for Excellence
One Wall Street was recently named one of two finalists for the Urban Land Institute’s 2022 Award for Excellence in Repositioning and Redevelopment. In the interest of shaping the built environment for transformative community impact, the ULI awards recognize exceptional development projects in the private, public and nonprofit sectors across New York State. Named finalists represent best-in-class development efforts, including an emphasis on architecture and design in the awards criteria.
One Wall Street is the crown jewel of architect Ralph Walker’s Art Deco Masterpieces and is the largest office-to-residential historic adaptive reuse effort in New York City. Its present-day, transformative expansion involves a five-story vertical addition to the South Annex (1963) that is seamlessly integrated with the landmarked North Tower (1932), as well as the meticulous restoration of the “Red Room,” an astonishingly-detailed, floor-to-ceiling mosaic room in the North Tower designed by acclaimed muralist Hildreth Meière.
Acheson Doyle Partners Architects served as Preservation Consultant on this transformative project.
The Urban Land Institute New York announced a total of 18 project finalists across nine award categories. Each year, projects are selected based on their ability to anticipate the needs and challenges of the future. Winners will be recognized at the Seventh Annual Awards for Excellence in Development Gala on November 2, 2022. Learn more about the ULI Awards for Excellence in Development here.
