Smithsonian Crozier Storage/Cooper-Hewitt Design Museum

Located within the Crozier Fine Arts building in Newark, New Jersey, this two-floor renovation is the off-site conservation laboratory, art collections storage, and library facility for the Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum. Acheson Doyle Partners served as Architect-of-Record for this project. Occupying the 3rd and 4th floors of the building, the facility houses administrative personnel; a visitor’s area; a conservation laboratory; a photography laboratory; a high-density collection storage and a library. New, open gallery spaces are flooded with natural light. New museum quality lighting and HVAC system were critical components of the renovation.
