Acheson Doyle Partners provided architectural services for the design enhancement and renovation of this existing artist’s loft that was converted into a condominium with full kitchen, bathroom and storage space. The redesign entailed the enlargement of an opening in the existing masonry bearing wall, freeing up floor space and permitting daylight into the apartment. The loft retains the original 12-foot high ceiling and exposed brick finishes. Along the south wall the kitchen, bathroom and walk-in-closet were designed as rooms within the greater space of the loft. Work space at the north end of the unit is used by the Owner for painting, and two wood panels have been wall-mounted and painted white as a backdrop for works in progress.
