Bishop Loughlin High School
Acheson Doyle Partners was commissioned by Anchor Inc. in 2004 to provide a feasibility study and preliminary budget for the conversion of the Brother’s Residence adjacent to the Bishop Loughlin Memorial H.S. in Fort Greene, Brooklyn into dormitory space for the students. Anchor Inc. is a not-for-profit organization that creates supportive learning environments for at-risk youths by partnering with successful inner-city schools, like Bishop Loughlin, to establish boarding programs that serve as an “anchor” of stability. ADP provided designs for the new dormitory that was completed in 2006, which in addition to living quarters included kitchen and dining rooms, common rooms, study rooms, chapel, counselor rooms, and offices.
