Club Quarters Hotels
In 1992, Acheson Doyle Partners restored and renovated the former Webster Hotel—a National Register Property on West 45th Street—into both a new hotel and a new home for the 100-year-old Chemist’s Club of New York. The design involved a full renovation of the 12-story building and penthouse building shell. Significant architectural details of the original building were carefully preserved, and the façade was completed restored. Additional hotel rooms were added later, the Club Bar was relocated to the Ground Floor (alongside a formal dining room and lounge), and, in 2001, the penthouse was enlarged. ADP designed the basement level to house the world-renowned Chemist’s Library, which was reworked to include a high-density storage system and comfortable reading/research areas.
