Fordham University Residence
Acheson Doyle Partners provided Design and Construction Administration Services for the Jesuit Community at Fordham University. The 1947 dormitory was gutted and renovated to house 30 Jesuit faculty members. Design solutions for the facility were implemented with careful consideration to the three spatial zones required by the residents: public, community, and residential/private. Careful attention was also given to the contemplative and discreet character of the Community Chapel, dedicated to St. Robert Bellarmine. In addition, a meditative garden was installed to create an exterior landscaped area, buffering the residence from the busy university circulation patterns.
