Guilford Press is a 11,500 sq. ft office for a publishing company located in Midtown Manhattan. For their new offices, Acheson Doyle Partners incorporated elements of the industrialism of their former SoHo office into the design in order to make the transition from the old to new space easier. Careful consideration was given to allow as much natural light into the space as possible while still having functional private offices at the perimeter. Through the use of 8’ tall doors with privacy glass, ADP was able to achieve a balance of both natural and artificial lighting. Organizing the office around a central circulation spine maximized the distribution of natural lighting to the open office workstations.
ADP developed the project from concept design through construction administration, and assisted with the furniture selections. All lighting, finishes and millwork were selected and designed by ADP.
