Smithsonian Crozier Fine Arts
Acheson Doyle Partners was the architect for a 25,000 sf off-site conservation laboratory, art collections storage, and library facility for the Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum—a Smithsonian Institution Museum in New York City, located at Fifth Avenue and 92nd Street in the former Andrew Carnegie Mansion. This off-site facility is located at Crozier Fine Arts Art Storage facility in Newark, NJ. Completed in fall 2009, it comprises the 3rd and 4th Floors of the Crozier building, housing administrative personnel; visitor facilities; a conservation laboratory; a photography laboratory; collection storage; and a library. Lighting and mechanical systems were designed to be museum quality.
